Apartment or Hotel in Paris, an Honest Weighing-Up

Space, quiet, location and service: what an apartment in Paris delivers, what a hotel does better, and when each is worth it. A sober weighing-up, from the heart of Paris.
The question of apartment or hotel is often framed as a question of price. It is rather a question of how you live. Anyone staying in Paris for three nights or more, as a couple, with family or with friends, soon realises that it is not about square metres but about how the day is spent. Our answer lies in between: not a hotel, not a residence.
Space
A Parisian hotel room is rarely generous. An apartment, on the other hand, separates what belongs apart and brings together what is meant to be shared: bedrooms for everyone, a living room for all, a kitchen, a table.
Our apartments have two to four bedrooms and, depending on the apartment, sleep up to eight. Several have as many bathrooms as bedrooms. That sounds like a detail, until the first morning with six of you.
The bill
A fair comparison does not set one room against one apartment, but against what you actually need. A family or a group needs several rooms in a hotel; in an apartment, they share one address. Add what a kitchen of your own changes: breakfast at home, a dinner made with shopping from the market, fewer meals that have to be eaten out.
Book direct and no service fees are added to the price either: you get the best available rate. We deliberately give no specific amounts here, as they depend on the address, the season and the length of stay.

Location
An apartment is only worth it if the address is right. We choose our addresses across Paris, one by one, by the same standard: a lively neighbourhood, a building with character, a city you explore on foot. Neighbourhoods where much can be done on foot, and where you come home in the evening without a detour. Our neighbourhood guides introduce each of them.
What the hotel does better
A hotel has a reception desk around the clock, room service and daily cleaning. For a single night, or a stay where you want to do nothing whatsoever for yourself, it remains the simpler choice.
That is why we run every apartment to the standards of a boutique hotel: a personal welcome, quality bed linen, a dedicated concierge seven days a week and a team that can be reached at any time. A restaurant table, an airport transfer, a last-minute wish: the city becomes our concierge.
When each is worth it
- · One or two nights, alone: the hotel is often simpler.
- · From three nights, as a couple: the apartment wins on quiet and space.
- · Families and groups: the apartment is almost always the better solution.
- · Longer stays: a kitchen and a real living room make the difference.
